Tell Don - Israel Tour Guide

Tel Aviv-Jaffa
We'll start the tour at the famous Jaffa Clock Tower that was dedicated to Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II in 1903. Throughout history whoever was in control of time was the Head Honcho. From Pharaoh back in Egypt to today's boss that makes you punch the clock. Let's skip now to enter what was the walled city of Jaffa through the Jerusalem Gate and head up to the acropolis. There unfolding is a panoramic view of the beaches and skyscrapers of Tel Aviv. Contrastingly in back of us are remnants of an entrance gate more than 3000 years old from the time of Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II.
We'll then slip into the narrow alleys that are chocked full of artist galleries and at the least afford your eyes to openly glow like the unique artistic jewelry that is displayed. Jaffa with its biblical story of Jonah and the vision of Peter will be relived. Exiting the old city we'll pass the Ottoman Sebil (water fountain), the Mahmoudiya mosque, the Ottoman old and new Saray (headquarters), and the Kishle (prison) where in 1960 the Nazi murderer Adolf Eichmann was temporarily imprisoned.
Next we'll jump to the first train station in the Holy Land known then as the JJ (Jaffa Jerusalem Line), that's been preserved and renovated. From here a short walk to the budding red city of Neve Tzedek that predated the founding of today's cosmopolitan Tel Aviv. We'll drive thru the white city of Tel Aviv declared a World Heritage site with over 4000 Bauhaus buildings and discover some of their hidden historical value. Last stop at the Sarona complex with its preserved history as a German Templar settlement with a modern twist of restaurants and a marketplace. Join me in visiting the old and new as we discover together the remarkable history of Jaffa and Tel Aviv.
