Tell Don - Israel Tour Guide
A once in a lifetime experience
I was fortunate enough to get a full-day walking tour of the Jerusalem Old City with Don Schwartz, and it was one of the greatest experiences. We started at the Jaffa Gate at 9, and walked and talked our way through archaeological, historical, and religious sites that cannot be matched by anywhere in the world. Don is a fantastic guide--the best I've ever been with. He is very learned and has a clear way of explaining things. Since so much of Jerusalem's history and importance is subject to dispute, it was great to have a guide who understands the various perspectives. And, Don is wonderful person to spend the day with. I highly recommend a tour with him in Jerusalem or anywhere else in Israel. You will not be disappointed.

Incredible Guide With A Wealth Of Knowledge And History
Don lead us on an 8-day private tour through Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Akko, Haifa, Galilee and a number of other places. We were able to customize our entire tour and worked with Don to determine and fine tune the perfect trip for us. He is incredibly responsive and unbelievably accommodating. We have a lot of family throughout Israel and he was able to coordinate with our various family members so that we could visit with them at different points along the tour while maximizing our itinerary. Israel is an amazing country and although it is quite small there is so much to see. Having a private driver/guide made all the difference. It was so much more meaningful, efficient, organized, and personal to have our own guide craft a tour around our specific interests.
I don't even know how to put into words just how much Don knows. There wasn't a single question we asked him, whether it was about history, religion, culture, politics or economics that he didn't have an answer for (and we asked a LOT of questions). Not only does he just answer questions he has a wonderful way of being interesting and thorough, providing an amazing amount of information with references and back up that proves he meticulously does his research.
Israel is a wonderful country and everyone should visit it at some point in their life, regardless of age, race or religion. Having Don as a guide enhanced the entire experience in a way that can only be realized by touring with him. Whether it's a small group or large group, multiple days or just a single day, your experience in Israel will be that much richer by choosing to work with Don. We've recommended him to everyone we know who is planning a trip to Israel and will absolutely use him as our guide for all future trips. Thank you Don!

Best guide for seeing Israel north and south
We just returned from Israel, where we traveled with an incredible tour guide, Don Schwartz
(a former New Yorker who has lived in Israel for over 30 years). We are history buffs, but Don managed to answer all our questions and greatly add to our knowledge. His grasp of Jewish, Christian and Muslim history, including the cultural and political aspects, was astounding.
My husband and I were driven and escorted by Don for a week, and he took care of all the details, like tickets and timing. We were freed from the logistics to concentrate on what we were experiencing- and that was the luxury of this trip.
Most importantly, Don has a great sense of humor!
We cannot recommend him enough.
